I received an email on Parts and Labor yesterday and spent the next hour or so looking for everything I could find by this Brooklyn group. They remind me of a cross between The Minutemen, Mars Volta, and Thunderbirds Are Now! and come highly recommended by Veritas Lux Mea.

Parts & Labor is Brooklyn's latest brilliant noise band. Having returned from thoroughly melting the minds of most of Europe, Parts & Labor now have their sonic assault trained squarely on a new set of domestic live dates. They have already taken out New York wi
th a blistering set to close out Brahloween at CMJ this past weekend, and will soon be visiting a venue near you. Their album "Stay Afraid" was released jointly on Jagjaguwar and Brah Records earlier this year and the band currently has a second album in the works slotted for release in the first half of 2007.
