Featured Artist: JOEMCA
While Joemca's overall sound is admittedly hard to pinpoint, with songs like the lushly sonic “Ode to the Sea” and the sublimely heartbreaking “Panic Friend”, Joemca has been compared to a diverse selection of artists, including Bjork, Rufus Wainwright & Bono.
Joemca has been classically trained in violin and piano. Occasionally, he moonlights as a Composer/Sound Designer/SoundEngineer for various experimental theater-based companies which feature Joemca's unique soundscores. These works include an original score for a re-envisioned ancient Chinese opera, soundscore/music for Audiomatic Theater's original & adapted audioplays, soundscore for various puppet show adaptations including Gogol's The Nose, and several Murakami-inspired short pieces. Joemca performs his scores live.

I received an email from Dick yesterday about Cincy's own Noctaluca yesterday.
Noctaluca is described by Cincy Music Online as "A fusion of sound, love, and fury. It's rock that sticks to your fingertips. You will go home from a show with pieces of it in you hair."
Noctaluca is the brainchild of Jason Ludwig, winner of last year's Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Singer/Songwriter of the Year (2003). Pell Mell, Ludwig's debut album, also recieved a nomination for Album of the Year. Citybeat magazine called the album "a masterpiece."
