sh.st/tVdGD sh.st/tCXMj Radiohead Remix Album - cakar macan blog

Greeting on another snowy weekend from us up here in Northern Wisconsin. We're currently sitting here watching Charlie Sheen's "Navy Seals" on AMC, and cringing at the terrible cover of "The Boys Are Back in Town" that accompanies the scene where the crew goes golfing in their cutoff tees and hot neon pink shorts. Ahh, they don't make movies like the used to anymore.

Aside from that little nugget of cinema pleasure, we've got a couple of music related items to pass along to you today.

The first is that Amplive's Radiohead remix album is now available for download. All of you out there who have been aching for a Radiohead rap remix album have finally got your wish. Ok, I'm not sure anyone's been aching for a Radiohead rap remix album...but now it exists.

If you're unaware of this project as I was until a day or two ago, Oakland producer/DJ Amplive has come out with an eight track remix album entitled Rainydayz Remixes which mixes some of Radiohead's more recent tracks.

Rainydayz Remixes is composed exclusively of source material pulled from In Rainbows, re-envisioned by Amplive and complimented by vocal work from Too $hort, MC Zumbi of Zion I, Chali2na of Jurassic 5, Codany Holiday, and Del The Funky Homosapien. The highly-anticipated Del track, which can be downloaded below, is a hiccupping take on the devastatingly gorgeous, album-closing "Videotape."

The entire eight track remix album is available for free download here.

The second thing I wanted to bring to your attention today is that Twin Cities Electropunk compilation 4 is also now available for free download. My first encounter with the Electropunk compliations came a few years ago and I was pleasantly surprised by the sound. If you're new to the compliations I invite you to head over to the TC Electropunk site and check out the latest and greatest compilation, or simply download the entire compilation below.

Last but not least, if you're looking for a new addition to the iPod we suggest you head over to Myspace and stream a few tracks from the London, UK outfit Paris Trading. The pop/rock group doesn't have a ton of info out there on their latest efforts but they've certainly got some great music.

You're Weight in Gold is a particularly blissful track ripe with great harmonies that I think you'll enjoy. Have a listen at their Myspace page.
