My special lady friend and I just finished our Saturday movie night with Knocked Up, and honestly, it was a lot better than I expected. Another quality flick from Judd Apatow. We waited awhile to see this because we had either heard really good things or really bad things about it. Luckily, most of our thoughts fell into the "really good things" category.
Aside from Stranger Than Fiction, Knocked Up was one of the more refreshing movies I've seen in the past year. Sure it's got the crass, stoner humor and language, but a lot of the humor is smart and most importantly, real. It's one of the few movies that make you take a look at your current situation and say "you know, things aren't that bad, are they?". It doesn't exactly make me want to hurry up and have a kid, but it certainly made you think about what that day is going to be like.
Also, you have to love a movie that references Matisyahu and has "We Are Nowhere and It's Now" from Bright Eyes playing in one of the scenes.
Remember to turn your clocks back one hour tonight. Enjoy that extra hour. We'll spend it dreaming.
