Hump Day has arrived in full force and I'm up an extra 20 minutes early thanks to thin walls and my neighbor's insanely loud alarm clock.
Luckily I've got a plethora of tunes to sift though as usual, so hopefully music can set the morning straight...

Have you ever been listening to Neutral Milk Hotel and wishing it was just a little more, um, cheerful? (Me either, but go with me here). Well, then you should take a listen to Noah and the Whale, who describe themselves as "a magical band hailing from London who find inspiration in the films of Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach." The Wes Anderson influence is visibly apparent at the band's website, which has a Life Aquatic theme.
Their debut album Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down is set to drop on Sept 16th in stores from Cherry Tree Records and July 26 online. The band is hoping to make a trip across the Atlantic in support of the record, but until then, you can check out their single, "5 Years Time," at the band's aforementioned website.
There's also some great self-made movies and music videos at the band's Myspace page that are worth checking out for the tunes and the laughs.
