So an interesting thing happened tonight that I want to share.
The wife and I were heading home after a little after-work shopping and stopped by a local fast food place in town. I won't mention the particular establishment because I don't want to get them in some sort of trouble with their corporate representation should this story turn out to be bad news for them, but it's one of the places listed in this story on Yahoo news today.
Now, I really do detest fast food, but damn, it's convenient and tasty, and we're short on time tonight. Anyhow, we made our order and proceeded through drive through when we came to the window to pay. I pulled out my ATM card seeing as how I also detest carrying cash and the girl at the window said that they weren't accepting cards at the moment because their machine was down. My response, and our conversation, went something as such afterwards:
Me: "Ok so...."
Burger girl: "Well we can still give you your order now, if you can come back sometime later like tomorrow and pay. We'll give you the receipt and you can just come back with your receipt and pay it whenever"
Me: "Um, ok...really?"
Burger girl: "Yeah, that's what my manager said."
Me: "Do you need like some collateral or anything?"
Burger girl: "Nope, we just are trusting that people will come back and pay"
Me: (Silence)
So the question is, would you honor their trust? Would you return to pay your bill, or chalk it up to good timing? I know what I'm going to do, but maybe that's because I'd feel pretty bad about deceiving the 16 year old burger mistress that I wasn't going to pay her. But what about you?

So, these guys are by no means the next coming of Johnny Cash, but Brent Amaker and The Rodeo certainly have their own style of "country" music that the Man in Black would certainly find entertaining at the least.
The intercontinental cowboys in Brent Amaker and the Rodeo are on a mission to spread their brand of country music to the world, and they're getting around. Dressed in black from hat to boots, the men of the Rodeo have been racking up the miles in 2007 and 2008, playing club and festival dates, and making radio appearances across the US and Canada, Germany, Holland, Belgium, and Great Britain. The Rodeo's latest record, Howdy Do!, hit the streets yesterday.

Gramercy Arms released their debut this week via Cheap Lullaby records. The album features current and former members of Guided By Voices, Luna, Joan As Police Woman, Dead Air and The Damnbuilders. In addition to the star studded core line-up, the supporting cast on the album is just as luminous. Dropping by to aid bandleader Dave Derby and company are Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, Joan Wasser of Police Woman fame, The Pernice Brothers, Shudder to Think, and comedienne Sarah Silverman. Last month the band offered up album stand-out “Looking At The Sun” (which features Silverman). To celebrate the album’s release, Gramercy is offering up album-opener “Automatic.” Early next month, the band will take the stage for their lone live performance of the winter alongside Nada Surf and Jealous Girlfriends at Bowery Ballroom in NYC.
What’s more, Gramercy Arms’ label Cheap Lullaby, Amie Street and the Food Bank For New York City have announced a far-reaching charity music campaign to raise money for the Food Bank For NYC and its Thanksgiving Outreach program, just in time for the holidays. All week, the entire Cheap Lullaby Records catalog, including Gramercy Arms, will be available for download as part of AmieStreet.com’s Download to Make a Difference Campaign. For every piece of Cheap Lullaby content sold, Amie Street will donate 50% of those proceeds to The Food Bank For NYC.
