Monday morning. Coffee, eggs, a little toast...and some gay zombies on top.
Canadian director Bruce LaBruce, the man behind such gay-themed, controversial films as Hustler White and The Raspberry Reich recently premiered his latest and most accomplished film to date, Otto; Or Up With Dead People at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art. Obviously, John Waters was in attendance. The film is a brand new, exceptional addition to the zombie genre the renounces the most obvious clichés, with LaBruce letting his protagonist – gay punk zombie Otto – ramble and roam the streets of Berlin until he finds himself cast for a low budget flick. With a keen eye for style, the director picks and mixes references from classic horror, silent movies and Modernity into a strident, yet poetic film. In this, Otto; Or Up With Dead People continues the tradition of the political pornographer’s previous successes.
I can't imagine snuggling up to the wife with a bowl of popcorn to watch Bruce LaBruce's flick, but it will certainly appeal to the horror-art house type looking for a little spin on the zombie flick.

Both the Vikings and the Bears won yesterday, which really puts the Packers in a must-win position to stay on pace with the race for the NFC North Division. Luckily tonight's game is a game that the Packers should win given New Orleans' struggles this season. ESPN's Kevin Seifert previews that matchup in his NFC North Blog.
I had this terrible feeling that the Jets could possibly play for a Super Bowl ring this season, with Brett Favre at the helm. It's quite possible that the Packers could miss the playoffs and the Jets could win the Super Bowl...at which point I might just have to take up watching the Bucks just to remind myself that hey, it could be worse.
